Yes, Your Skin Needs Vitamins Too

When you’re feeling run down, the simplest cure is replenishing your body with the vitamins it needs to recharge. The same goes with your skin. Vitamins are the building blocks of clear, hydrated, and glowing skin. They’re also an added (and mandatory!) shield against sun damage. Don’t know which vitamins your skincare routine is missing? We’re here to help!

Vitamin A
More commonly referred to as retinol, vitamin A is still the number one ingredient for fighting wrinkles. They also smooth any roughness to the complexion because they’re such strong exfoliators.

Vitamin B3
Vitamin B comes in many forms, but to ensure hydration Vitamin B3 is truly essential. By strengthening the skin’s outer protective barrier, it helps keep moisture in and irritants out—a must for dry or sensitive skin.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C provides two essentials: a brightened complexion and younger-looking skin. It works to maintain healthy blood vessels and promote collagen production by neutralizing free radicals. And that gorgeous glow is due to the vitamin’s ability to lighten brown spots.

Vitamin D
While we don’t recommend you get your daily dose of Vitamin D through sun exposure, the vitamin is still essential for skin (and overall) health. It can help minimize acne, boost elasticity, add a natural glow to the complexion and even lessen the appearance of fine lines. To get the benefits without a supplement or the sun, apply topically with a Vitamin D-rich moisturizer or serum.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is another immunity goldmine for the skin, stopping free radicals (like UV rays!) in their tracks that try to speed up the breakdown of collagen. It’s also a must for sensitive or highly allergic skin as it soothes, reduces redness and retains moisture.
